Through new streaming platform INVISION, and just in time for the 2020 election, IN Series presents The Gonzales Cantata, a satirical docu-opera by composer Melissa Dunphy with settings of transcripts from Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’s disastrous 2007 Senate Judiciary Committee hearings in the style of Handelian oratorio. This new INVISION production features the premiere of an organ transcription by the composer as well as a collaboration with the Capital City Symphony
Soprano Melissa Wimbish stars as Attorney General Alberto Gonzales with Noelle McMurtry as Senator Ben Cardin, Julie Bosworth as Senator Chuck Grassley, Kelly Curtin as Senator Patrick Leahy, Joe Haughton as Senator Diane Feinstein, Caroline Miller as Senator Arlen Specter, Elizabeth Van Os as Senator Jeff Sessions, and Cara Schaefer as Senator Orrin Hatch.
