REQUIEM by Mozart, Vivier, & Boulanger
IN Series intersperses an innovative staged production of Mozart’s Requiem, left unfinished at his death, with the music of two brilliant and often ignored 20th-Century composers: French composer Lili Boulanger (1893-1918) and Canadian composer Claude Vivier (1948-1983). Like Mozart, both Boulanger and Vivier died before their 36th birthdays, leaving behind incomplete death music of extraordinary beauty and craft. Performances will take place throughout Washington, DC at the Hand Chapel, First Congregational UCC, The Dupont Underground, and St. Mark’s Capitol Hill before traveling to Baltimore at 2640 Space, each night performed in a different sacred and iconic space around our nation’s capital.
